Overview:

This webinar will provide HIPAA training specifically designed for PSOs.  The presentation will review the regulations, what's changed recently, and what needs to be addressed for compliance by PSO business associates.  The session highlights what are the most important privacy and security issues, what needs to be done for HIPAA compliance, and what can happen when compliance is not adequate.  Audits and enforcement will be explained, as well as privacy and security breaches and how to prevent them.

A Certificate of Training will be awarded to participants.

Meet the Speaker:  Barry Mathis 

Barry has nearly three decades of experience in the information technology (IT) and healthcare industries as a CIO, CTO, senior IT audit manager, and IT risk management consultant.  He has performed and managed complicated HIPAA security reviews and audits for some of the most sophisticated hospital systems in the country.  Barry is a creative senior level healthcare executive who is visionary and results-oriented with demonstrated experience in planning, developing, and implementing complex information technology solutions to address business opportunities while reducing IT risk and exposure.  He is adept at project and crisis management, trouble shooting, problem solving, and negotiating.

Confidentiality Training for PSO and Provider PSES Workforce 

ON DEMAND

The Patient Safety Act requires confidentiality training for all PSES workforce who have access to PSWP.  This webinar provides in depth confidentiality training tailored for providers and PSO PSES workforce.  The training is intended to provide consistent information across the PSO Community to ensure that the confidentiality of PSWP is maintained to prevent breaches of confidential information, OCR investigations and potential penalties.  Additionally, the training will permit staff to easily identify what is PSWP and to protect the privilege for PSWP. The training also teaches providers the PSO vocabulary, discusses the three reporting pathways and identifies the activities that should occur in the PSES. 

Who should attend:  any provider or contractor who has access to PSWP; PSES workforce; PSO workforce; new workforce staff; IT contractors or other contractors.

A certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants.
